Found NEMO

Woohoo! After 2 nights of theory lessons, 2 nights of pool classes and a weekend of sun, beach, sea and the amazing world underneath, we've finally gotten our PADI open water cert to explore the underwater world!
We set off on Friday evening, took a 3 hour bus ride to Mersing and then a 6-hour boat ride on the super-slow 'sampang' before reaching our destination - Dayang.
An hour later, we got out of bed, had a sumptuous 'kampong style' international buffet breakfast before heading out for our first dive.
The first 2 dives were mainly on practising the skills and getting used to the sea water. Even though we didn't swim around much and I was freezing underwater for the first 2 dives, it was an amazing experience to have so many beautiful fish swimming around me. And those fishies are totally bochup, they just swim around as though divers are another species of fish. It was only on the 3rd dive that we really went around exploring, and gasp! I FOUND MY NEMO!!! OMG! they're so perfectly in the shade of sunshine orange, round, plump and juicy! playing hide and seek in those plushy anemone. Super Love!!! Day 1 ended with a BBQ dinner, doing up our logbook and listening to our dive instructor's collection of photos before hitting the sack.
Sunday started early because we had to leave by noon due to the tide, but we did manage to go for another 2 dives, breakfast, lunch, wash-up, pack-up all before noon. Amazing experience, no wonder people say diving is addictive. Next time we'll make sure we get a underwater camera, and a proper set of attire to capture the wonders of 'under the sea'! Nemos, turtles, muray eel, gigantic clam, huge starfish, sea cucumber, lionfish, beautiful coral, puny little shrimps, colourful nudibranch, fishes big and small, there's just too many!
Here're some of the photos, not many cos we're too busy with all the gears and have yet to invest in a underwater camera.

Open water scuba diving, finally off my wishlist!
Next up: skydiving???? ok, cheeky??

Little things that make my day

My first order from Zalora. The delivery is so fast it's freaky!
It ordered after lunch and since it claims to deliver within 48 hours, I was expecting to receive the next day or even the day after next, since I indicated 7-10pm. And guess what, it was sitting on the bed waiting for me the very evening, individually wrapped and boxed up nicely! Free delivery somemore! Ok, so now we both have new slippers to wear!
Went for my TPY night shift as usual and I was so surprised that one of my patients (I only have a few, not even a handful) actually came looking for me. He came in with painful shoulders and arms that were unbearable, he couldn't pinpoint where exactly the pain is coming from, but according to him, it bothered him for years and it's affecting his sleep a lot, and he also can't carry heavy things because of that. He claimed that practising Qigong helped to cure it a few years back but he hasn't got the time to do it now, he has tried many chinese and western doctors, did acupuncture, cupping etc but it didn't really help. So sinseh legi, being still rather inexperienced, just did some acupuncture on the usual shoulder and arm points and gave him some medicine. And surprisingly, I was told, he came back on a weekend, peeping in to see if I was around because his pain went away and for once, he could sleep well. Hmmmm, either I'm lucky or tcm really worked....
Not a bad Tuesday to start the week, but of course the weekend and our Monday (on leave) was better.:)

Fatty Chubby Me

Woohoo, piping hot huge chicken chop, uncut and with some bones at the bottom, just like those in TW. Taste-wise, I can't really compare to the other brands cos I haven't had one in eons, but biting it off bit by bit definitely felt more authentic. And that was our appetizer, together with oyster mee sua, before heading back home for dinner on Saturday. Not forgeting pasar malam munchies for supper after movie! Loving the variety of newly-opened plus existing junkie munchies in Tampines!

Now, that's just part 1 of super-value-for-money porridge buffet at 1.30pm on a Monday afternoon for 2 starving girls!

Seriously, how to not get fat like that. Sigh...

Father's day last Sunday, but not much of a celebration cos everywhere is just too crowded, even the coffee shop downstairs.
My daddy's so funny...

See, all dads are biased, I want a daughter first!

Hitting the 1 month mark

Yep, we're a month old as man and wife!
And no, we didn't spend the evening going on a good dinner, nor a romantic date. Instead, we were doing this:

Exam!!! Haha, now that's another step closer to n-e-m-o!!

If that was a test on how good a wife I am, it will definitely not be 100 marks, maybe not even 90. But the effort and love put in will definitely be 100%.

Monday blues

Exactly one month ago on this date, we woke up early in the morning just like how we do for work everyday, but it was for this:

Anyways, some updates on the weekend: Was out the whole of Saturday for work, run errands and PC show. At B.Basah after clearing off some books and deciding what's for lunch,
Me: hmmm, want to eat some French food? (refering to Saveur)
Cheeky (in his usual cheeky tone): Ok, you mean mc.donald?
Me: ....
Only his wife knows her cheeky boy...

Now, after squeezing through the crowds of PC show, super-blur-coupon-queen-me dragged cheeky and papa to the far end of suntec to collect my groupon purchase. After much searching for the groupon shop and taking a number, I took and second look at my voucher and realised: the collection only starts 2 weeks later!! I rock!!
Unintentional early Father's Day dinner at Soup Restaurant:

because cheeky wanted some chicken. Of course there was more food than this, but I was too hungry to bother about taking photos anymore.
Sigh, why is it Monday again?

All excited!

Because Cheeky surprised me on Thursday with a simple question and we're about to embark on an adventure that I've always wanted to do! That means it's going to be a real busy week ahead (and no 1-monthsary celebration for us as planned) and no more anyhow spending money on shopping for me! But I'm one step closer to n-e-m-o!!!

Joke of the day...

Cheeky ar cheeky... I don't know what to say...

And so I went to dig up my past marathon timings. Gosh, 6 years ago, I actually conquered it at 4:50:06!!! Oh yes, those were the days when I was still a 20-year-old, probably spending more time exercising than sleeping!
Ok, there you go, my marathon records from 2004-2007:

Well, obviously I wasn't seriously running in 2007. And obviously you know what I use the internet for at work. LOL
