What an overdue post because I've been so busy with work and stuff, but nonetheless, what beats ending each day than seeing my loves.
Some things are love at first sight, some builds up over time. Nemo to me was undoubtly love at first sight. I was taken by surprise when cheeky told me 'let's do a nemo tank!' I thought he was joking because it was meant to be part of our new house project, but no, he was serious (and indeed very hardworking when it comes to research).
And so we started our project nemo, travelling from pasir ris to lim chu kang to get the equipments, starting with making salt water, to buying rocks and sand, to testing the water parameters, getting all the pumps, skimmer, chiller, filters going, to finally getting our lovely pair of nemo! Lots of money, time and effort spent, but we're loving it!
Look at these silly little fishies, I can just sit at the sofa and look at them swim all day, no wonder they are called clowns.
And we added other creatures like the gobies that look perpetually sad, doctor shrimp, pistol shrimps as the gobies companion, some snails, 2 sea urchins that can never stop pooping, a wrasse that really lies down in the sand to sleep at night. And lots of corals!
Look at that cute sad face, how to not love them too?
My cute little urchin that is also a pooping machine.
I was trying to take video of how my little doctor shrimp plays with it's shedded shell, but spot the pooping machine on top!!
And initially I only thought of keeping nemo and other fish, until we started playing with corals. These little living things have amazing power of changing sizes with light and serves as great playground for my nemos.
That's our little sun coral that's finally in full bloom weeks after buying it.
Now besides catching movies and catching up on sleep during weekends, we have lots of new places to go and explore! And having crazy ideas of how to do up the tank in our new house!
